Tabebuia impretiginosa Extract
Taheebo, the purple inner bark of the Bignoniaceae tree Tabebuia has been used as a
traditional medicine for various diseases for more than 1,500 years (Hashimoto, 1996).  
Tabebuia trees grow in tropical rain forests in northeastern Brazil and the inner bark of this
tree was one of the primary medicines used by the Callawaya tribe for over a thousand of
years. Taheebo can be used externally as a poultice for a variety of skin inflammatory
condition including eczema, psoriasis, and fungal infections. Concentrated Taheebo
extract  has been shown to have anti-inflammatory  and anti-tumor properties ( de Santana
et al., 1968; Woo and Choi, 2005; MUKHERJEE et al., 2009 ).
